Question for Meditation: Do something today to lighten another’s load.
“The man who wishes to exempt himself from providing for his neighbors should face himself and declare that he no longer wishes to be a man, for as long as we are human creatures we must contemplate as in a mirror our face in those who are poor, despised, exhausted, who groan under their burdens …”
Question for Meditation: Can you see yourself in those you do not want to look at?
“Beloved, you are faithful in all you do for the brothers, especially for strangers; they have testified to your love before the church.”
Question for Meditation: How would a stranger testify to your love?
“So the next time the doorbell rings, welcome the guests with an open heart. Look beyond the facial features, the clothing and the physical bodies into the eternal soul which glows within each of us like the purest of gold.”

“(He) used to honor his guests; he even spread his garment for a non-relative guest to sit on it. He used to offer his guest his own cushion and insist on him to accept it until the latter accepts [sic] it from him. No one came to him as a guest but thought that he was the most generous of people.”
